MMHF™ Platinum level is the highest designation a hospital or facility can achieve and  recognizes the commitment an organization has made towards providing maternal mental health support and services to the perinatal community.

Monmouth Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, is one of the largest academic medical centers in New Jersey and is a teaching affiliate of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick. MMC began providing services to the perinatal community in 2012. They were one of the only locations in NJ to offer support groups for women experiencing some form of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders during their pregnancy or first postpartum year. In 2017, MMC opened the Center for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety disorders as a response to the thousands of women who attended the hospital’s support groups over the years and the necessity to provide more space, programs, and treatment. The Center’s staff of therapists, RN’s, administration, and trained survivors continues to grow, along with the multitude of programs it offers as it averages approximately 10-12 new patient calls daily.

Monmouth Medical Center is one of only 11 hospital based centers nationally offering PMAD’s treatment for the over 800,000 women who suffer every year.

As The Bloom Foundation for Maternal Wellness celebrates the launch of the Maternal Mental Health Friendly Certification, we are honored to recognize the Monmouth Medical Center for its commitment to the highest standards of maternal mental health care, benefiting mothers, babies and the wellness of the family unit. As one of the state’s leading hospitals for number of births each year, over 5,800 babies born in 2018 , supporting maternal mental health practices makes a significant impact on improving the health and well-being of the community.

Monmouth Medical Center successfully achieved its Platinum level designation by fulfilling rigorous qualifications the meet the MMHF™ guidelines and criteria predicated on the Ten Canons of Care.
