Guidelines and Criteria

The Bloom Foundation for Maternal Wellness presents Guidelines and Criteria for providers to follow in order to achieve Maternal Mental Health Friendly Platinum certification.  The Guidelines and Criteria are predicated on the Ten Canons of Care and are for organizations to use as a tool to guide them through the certification process.

The Guidelines and Criteria were developed by a team of PMAD experts and consist of best practices that are both evidence-based and proven to increase recognition and responsible treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. MMHF™ certified providers must adhere to the Guidelines and Criteria (adjusted for types of certification based on designation and/or level) to receive, and retain, a Maternal Mental Health Friendly™ Certification.

If you are a Hospital, Birthing Center or Women’s Wellness Clinic seeking MMHF™ Certification, download these Guidelines and Criteria.

If you are an OB/GYN, Midwife, or Pediatrician seeking MMHF™ Certification, download these Guidelines and Criteria.

The Guidelines and Criteria for Certification vary depending upon the Designation and Level a provider wishes to receive. The Guidelines and Criteria are predicated on the Ten Canons of Care although not all Designations will include all 1o Canons.
